End Of The Road

well, that's it folks. this is the last image from our 2 week road trip down the east coast of australia. believe me when i tell you that this was a sad day...i could've roadtripped for another month...but alas, gas costs, and so does food. so after this night in wonderful Caboulture, we arrived in Byron Bay on the 12th of October. It was grey and rainy, first rain we'd seen in 3 weeks or so, an omen for the coming weeks. That was 3 weeks ago today and we've only just found work this week. Byron is nice, but very populated, compared to Far North Queensland and much more developed. Seeing this difference, the loss of the rainforest, the neo-hippies, the awful stench of patchouli and the annoying backpackers whose sole goal, it seems, is to drink each other under the table have made us ponder about the "wonders of modern civilisation". but samantha and i are carving ourselves a little niche, and slowly adapting back to all of this. i can't imagine what montreal will be like. ugh. i miss being surrounded by nothing.

it helps to go faster you know.. like speed holes in the hood of the car!
