you may not see it, but i nearly broke my neck running from the camera as it counted down its 10 seconds before letting the shutter do its thing. slippery rocks are no fun when one is in a rush. here is an idea for you Canon, how about adjustable delay times ? now that's a feature we could all use.

get a Pentax, they have that feature... so you can walk slowly in place!
but they don't have that 10xZoom thing that is pretty amazing...
