The Wombat. Well, lemme tell ya folks you don't want one of these guys munchin' on grass or roots right behind your head when yer lyin' in a tent...but only cuz it is the LOUDEST animal i have ever heard. We got woken up at 4.30 am by a very large wombat. we had no idea what it was but i braved unexpectedness and any number of deadly animals to find out what was making such a racket behind our tent. i got out flashed the torch around a sure enough this big guy was just waddling along. he got scared when i walked towards him. he looked like a hugely overgrown cross between a squirrel, a bear and a guinea pig, but weirder.
