Cape Le Grand National Park, near Esperance (aka Heaven)
i encountered this goanna on my way to the beach on the first morning at the Park. it is noteworthy that the tent was a mere 100 m from the beach. i could live there, i think. another interesting tidbit is that this same goanna decided to rest at the entrance of the tent for most of the late morning. he was like my guard-dog goanna.

he is posing no doubt! his hole for an ear, had heard you were up to something with that camera, strange creature, did it let you come close and touch him?
