ok, so we spent 3 weeks in Melbourne, instead of the anticipated 6...we were gonna get jobs, we were gonna be real good and save up for the Grand Finale Road Trip To End All Road Trips.......but....and if you've ever traveled you know how easily plans can be changed...it all changed. realising how city life is city life in any city, albeit for minor differences, we opted to leave earlier than planned, laughed at the idea of getting jobs and spent 3 glorious weeks being tourists of the purest and laziest kind in the truly great city that is Melbourne. we lived in st-kilda, in a sort of ghetto/projects type building populated by backpackers...it was dirty was but close to the action, as it were. we saw a concert, we shopped and wore our nice clothes for the first time since we're in oz. it was a nice change. then, satisfied, we hit the road. more on that later. right now my back is killing and it is way past my 9 o'clock bedtime....i mean, i have to be up at 5.30 amto pick raspberries, after all.
