so we decided to get jobs. yeah, great idea. we found work near Mt-Barker in Southwest WA, at a raspberry farm. it was hard on both our backs and we had to get up at 5.30 am and face what felt like sub-zero temperatures for the first 3 hours then like 30 degree heat for the rest of the day then freezing nights, later on. we lived in a trailer and spent all day picking, or so it seemed but it was a totally different facet of ozzie life and the farmers we worked for, Grant and Judy, were really cool people. it was weird going back into civilization afterwards. pictured above is one of the many enemies of the raspberry. actually two, if you count me.
