Open Water Diver
this is it ! our first day of scuba diving ! in the above picture you can see Sam and I at the bottom of the rope on our first dive. approximate depth at this point: 10 m. it was, to put it mildly, an amazing and totally different experience. the underwater world is nothing like dry land, it's like another planet down there, all the rules are different as well as all the animals and plants. and being able to move your body in ANY direction, much like an astronaut, is So Fucking Cool. yeah. we did three dives today, all around 10-12 m and saw thousands of fish, even a jellyfish (well, i missed that one, it was apparently right near my head, Sam thought i was being very brave...but i was just oblivious really...). anyway, three more dives tomorrow, including 2 adventure dives. you need 5 adventure dives to be credited as an Advanced Open Water Diver and golly gee, i'll be damned if i ain't an Advanced Open Water Diver by next monday...more on that later...ciao.
