Cape Tribulation & The Daintree Rainforest

last friday, we packed a suitcase and headed up the coast, into the wild that is Cape Tribulation. we finally had two days off together (sam and i, that is) and decided to pack in the adventure factor, as you will notice in the following posts. we were rewarded with sights like these, deadly animals. we ate ants' asses (ok, licked...but i ate the first one, being ignorant of the actual proper technique...) for their citrus nutrients, hiked the rainforest at night, swam the lagoons and stalked a sea turtle at 6:15 in the morning. wish i could do this full time.

COOL ALEXI! i'm lovin' all your pics :)
i want to know more about the licking ant bums... explain yourself, dude! and do you have pictures? HAHA.
AND SOURSOP! i've been craving that tropical delight since sri lanka 3 years ago!

em's update: we've booked a double room at Nomad Hostel in Bondi Beach for Xmas and haven't planned New Years yet... truthfully i'm a little leary of the whole Bondi experience as i seem to get reverse culture shock pretty bad each time i leave asia and bondi seems pretty full on (loud, drunken english speakers vs the quiet, introverted japanese!)... but, hey, i'm a trooper and am sure to have a great time!
got plans? if you're booking anything, think about booking soon, we found a lot of places already full up.
we'll be in sydney area until after new years when our kat will be out of quarantine :) drop me a line anytime
