this was not taken at night, but on the road, returning from the fruit tasting. these are cassowaries, an endagered bird, that can be as tall as 6 feet and as mean as a velociraptor. it has a bone on it's head, for crushing humans and a claw for gutting them. but it is beautiful, in that sort of dinosaur way. we stayed in the car. we saw two with their chicks, a very rare sight, i am told, as there are only about 1200 bird left...
