The Atherton Tablelands

the first part of our 2 week roadtrip consisted of a loop through the Atherton Tablelands. we took the road that leads to Kuranda, all steep and windy, followed by stops in Mareeba, Atherton, Millaa Millaa and Ravenshoe, amongst others. the Tablelands are reknown for their picturesque green scenery and for patches of wet tropic rainforest with dramatic waterfalls. the whole trip consisted of trying to get from one idyllic swimming place to another. all i wore the whole time was my boardies. (bathing suit, for you northamericaners...)

Alexi.. This would make a lovely painting, it's so much like the Eastern Townships..

yeah, anthony, except for the red earth, that is what i found most amazing, the contrast between the green and the red. but most of the countryside here could've been in the townships.
